News Desk, March 22, 2026 – Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday visited the site of an Iranian missile strike in Arad, where a direct hit in a residential area caused extensive damage and left dozens of civilians injured.

The missile struck between apartment buildings, damaging multiple homes and surrounding structures. Emergency responders treated casualties at the scene, including children, while rescue teams worked through debris in what officials described as a severe impact zone.

Standing at the site, Netanyahu said the scale of destruction could have resulted in far greater loss of life, describing the relatively low number of casualties as a “miracle.” He urged residents across the country to strictly follow safety instructions and enter protected spaces during alerts, stressing that the home front remains critical.

Bezalel Smotrich said immediate assistance would be provided to affected families, adding that authorities had been instructed to minimize bureaucracy and ensure rapid support. He pledged that all damaged homes would be restored so residents could return to normal life as quickly as possible.

Gideon Sa’ar said the strike hit a purely civilian neighborhood with no military presence, describing it as deliberate targeting of civilians. He noted that, given the widespread destruction, the number of casualties was relatively low.

Other senior officials, including Israel Katz, Yoav Kisch, and Miri Regev, also visited the scene and assessed the damage.

Isaac Herzog said the country would overcome the current phase of the conflict, expressing confidence as recovery efforts begin in the affected community.

Netanyahu also used the visit to call on the international community to join efforts against Iran, saying the recent attacks demonstrate a broader threat beyond Israel.
