Iran’s army has announced that it carried out a new wave of drone strikes targeting multiple sites at Israel’s Ben Gurion Airport, stating that the operation was intended to disrupt military aviation activities and command infrastructure.
In a statement released Saturday, the army said the strikes were conducted in response to what it described as the continued use of the airport by the United States and Israel for operations against Iran. According to the statement, several key installations were targeted, including control towers, navigation systems, radar equipment, and communications infrastructure.
Iranian officials indicated that the objective of the operation was to interfere with military air traffic coordination, hinder the deployment and guidance of combat aircraft, and weaken surveillance and electronic warfare capabilities.
The statement also emphasized that further retaliatory measures would follow, warning that Iran’s armed forces would continue to respond to what it described as ongoing aggression.
Tensions between Iran and its adversaries have escalated sharply following a series of attacks and counterattacks. Reports indicate that recent strikes have affected both military and civilian locations, resulting in casualties and infrastructure damage.
In response, Iranian forces have launched retaliatory operations involving drones and missiles aimed at various targets linked to U.S. and Israeli interests in the region.
